WARRIOR NUN BLACK & WHITE
This was my first paying job as a full artist. The story by Derek Kirk left enough intriguing loose ends for me to write a sequel to it, Onigami.
I was given a surprising amount of freedom while working on this: I took liberties with the character designs given to me and even redesigned one of Antarctic Press's standing characters, Ninja Nun, to fit my sensibilities. At every step, I expected to be shot down, but the changes I made all went through. Also, Mr Kirk's script was somewhat long-winded in places, and I was allowed to cut some of it as I lettered the book. Thanks go out to editor Herb Mallette and Mr Kirk for letting me make these changes on what was basically their show.
