Technical details

Timelines

The game is played simultaneously on two different time-lines. One is set in 4965, and begins two months before the mysterious closing of the Thrinakia Jumpgate, the other is set in 4999, and begins as the scouting party is about to cross the threshold of a world left unvisited for thirty-three years.

A maximum of four concurrent characters shall be accepted for each time period. Players have control over one and only one character. Efforts will be made to make each character part of a different House or affiliation.

Joining the Game

If you wish to be part of the game, send me an email. Applicants will be required to provide a brief blurb of the character they wish to play. If the character seems interesting, a character sheet along a short fictional piece introducing the character shall be requested. If this prologue is deemed appropriate, you will then be officially sucked into the game.

Game Mechanics

The playing of the game is mainly done via moves. The storyteller sends a move outline to the player, who then fictionalize it. At the end of the move, the player gives a "todo" list of what she would like her character to do. Based on the player's wishes and what has happened on the previous move, the storyteller writes another move and the cycle begins anew.

Click here for an example of a move outline, and here for the final, fictionalized version.

Characters can also find themselves caught in a situation that asks for a tighter feedback loop, like a dialogue or a combat. When this happens, the role-playing will typically be done via much shorter mini-moves that will be aggregated and fictio-polished later by the player.
