Count Ortega Hazat
[The screen behind the Father fades, to be
replaced by a portrait of a noble, hair and beard
coiffeured elegantly, eyes showing a hint of the
inherent superiority that Alexis detested and yet
seemed inbreed into almost every noble he'd ever
met.]
Father Damascus
[Before the largest screen stood the fatherly
figure of Father Damascus, his face, though set
in a grave mask, held the hint of the smile that
Alexis often remembered gracing it during weapon
practice to signify a manoeuvre well executed or
a tactic grasped soundly.]
[The one familiar and reassuring face in the room was the
second Brother Battle. Father Damascus, away from the De Molay
monastery for the first time in over a decade. He offered Jericho
a warm smile, in that simple gesture letting him know that
whatever they had called him here for it wasn’t an
auto-da-fe.]
Father Mathias
[No
furniture was in the room, and the only occupant was an old
Eskatonic priest. The old man smiled slightly, without humour,
and sketched a blessing in the air towards Jericho “I am
Father Mathias.” He glanced at the novice. “That will
be all, Kalim. You are excused.”]
